What game are you guys playing?

I just passed the All Star break and I have yet to have the catcher throw to third. He throws to first maybe twice a game, and the pitcher only throws over if I extend the lead with Rollins and Marlon Byrd.

      PS2 version
      Sim slider maxed

      What the dill?

              JRod,

When I was playing HH I had the catcher snap throw 9 times in one game (counted em because everyone was complaining). I had the pitcher try to pick off a runner 7 times, not in a row, but during the at bat. Man, that really took the feel out of the game for me.

The game doesn't have a bunch of ambience to begin with and this really hurts it.

Re: Some annoying things about HH

Just wanted to chime in here now that i've gotten to play about 25 games. I have only had the CPU catcher do a pickoff throw twice in all of my games. Not only that, but even the pitcher doesn't throw over too much... seems about right to me. I'm playing the on the PS2, All-Star level, low view with the sim and foul ball sliders at 7... nothing else changed.

I wonder if it has to do with not just the lead your taking, but how early you take it? When I first started playing I was concentrating on hitting so much I never took a lead. Then it seemed that just as I was hitting the "increase lead" button the pitcher would make a pickoff throw and nail me. Part of that is because I have it set on "fastest" gameplay, so there isn't much time before the pitch to take a lead. Now I basically take my little lead right as I see the pitcher start his windup. If I plan on doing a steal or hit & run that is the only time I will take a lead before the pitcher winds up. I'm playing with the Yankess, and with 1 press of the lead button and a decent jump I have been able to steal a realistic amount of bases with Soriano and Jeter... even Williams, Mondesi, etc will make it on breaking pitches.

Is this when most others press the lead button? And are you taking bigger leads? Just trying to help out, because honestly I don't get too many pick off throws at all... whether it's by the pitcher or the catcher.
                  LET'S GO FLYERS, YANKEES, DOLPHINS!!!

I don't wanna play 182 games. How do I change that?

                          Look here for your answer.

Well if you don't want to play 182 games, I wouldn't worry abuout it too awful much, you would have to take every series to the last game and play a couple tie breaker games at the end of the season

It's not about taking leads for me, because I don't take them at all. All that does is make the pitcher try to pick you off almost everytime you do. It also hasn't been about the runner being fast, for me, either. The catcher has tried to pick off everyone on my team (if they've been on first at some point, that is).

When I played the Marlins, I thought it may just be because it was Ivan Rodriguez, who has been known to throw a few guys out that way, but when I played the Phillies next, Lieberthal was doing it, too. I don't know all that much about Lieberthal, but I thought he was known more for his hitting than his defense.
