Another cool finding

[Millennium]

Being that this is my first year of HH, I found this extremely pleasing, except for the fact that is cost me the game.

In the 4th game of my O's franchise, @ home against Boston. Tied 3-3 in the bottom of the 9th. Jorge Julio pitching. Johnny Damon steps up to the plate, hits a gapper which, instead of being safe, I dive for with Matthews (CF), miss, and let roll to the wall. Damn ends up on 3rd base. I proveed to strike out the second hitter, then get Garciaparra to pop up to the catcher. So there it is, Manny Ramirez vs. Julio, 2 outs. I go up in the count 1-2. Manny fouls off a couple of fastballs, takes 2 sliders that I still wear the ump made bad calls on. Then it happens. I see Damn one too many steps off the bag. I know I can pick him off. As I wait for the right time, my palms begin to sweat. Julio goes into the kick, Damon freezes, the pick-off attempt is there!!!!

Oh yeah, except for the fact that Julio forgot how exactly to pick-off, recieved a FRIGGIN' BALK!!! Damn scores, I go 1-2-3 in the 9th, lose 4-3.

God bless this game...even though I got

What a heartbreaking way to lose a game. I could live with a batter hitting my pitcher's best pitch out the of the park to win a game, but to balk the winning run home. That's just a kick in the nuts.

Definitely a tough way to lose, but what a cool thing to have happen in a video game. I have never seen that in any other baseball game.

had a balk in a game tonight where the opposing team scored on a steal from third base. Caught me off guard not realizing you can steal on a balk.

WOW. That's great. I never try to pick off runners so I would NEVER know that we can actually get called for it. Very nice to know! Thanks for the info.

The AI pulled a squeeze bunt on me with the score tied in the 9th and I ended up losing the game in the bottom of the inning. I didn't even see the runner creeping toward home until it was too late. What other game offers AI that would do something like that?

The AI has done the suicide squeeze on me three or four to win the game. I try to anticipate it if they have a fast guy on third.
