Re: Finally..
Nothing like New York baseball on Opening Day. I hate the Yanks, but its still fun watching their Opening Day games. I'll definitely watch that game because one of my favorite pitchers (Halladay) is pitching. I can't wait till tomorrow.

Re: Finally..
NOOOOOOOOO, first the yankee game is rain delayed, now the Cubs game is being called by BRENT MUSBERGER! Damn you espn! lol
Anybody else think maybe ESPN spread themselves a little thin for opening day, when they have Mustardberger calling a game?
If they have Theismann calling the Astros game tonight, I think I may go mental....Comment

Re: Finally..
So I can't watch the Orioles game because the one person I know that gets MASN isn't home, and my XM online won't let me go to the channel that it's on. Fantastic.Comment

Re: Finally..
Musberger is not bad. He used to do a lot of Sunday Night Baseball on CBS radio in the 80s. I think his voice is perfect for baseball anyways.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Good Start to the Phillies season as Gordon implodes in the 9th inning. Should be an interesting year with this pen.Comment

Re: How to Become a Supporter of Operation Sports
Originally posted by doorknobbHey Steve, really appreciate the site and the forums existing. Definitely not too many places that have a dedicated and focused user base that feels like the forum culture of pre-2007. It's great to see that such a place still exists after I took a 15 year hiatus from most games due to school/recession/working.
I'd like to send in a contribution but I can't make any payments through Paypal that requires a Paypal account. This also applies to Venmo. It's from a legal settlement reached with their legal department from years ago for their tortious actions in violating their own terms. I can pay invoices sent to me that are processed through their platform, but that's a hassle I'm guessing, since it was a hassle before (I seriously don't know what their site even looks like now). I can do most other platforms: Google or Apple Pay (not Samsung, I think, unless it works on their projector platform), crypto of any kind, prepaid debit, gift cards, straight up credit/debit if you have a processor but probably not worth it. I know I can send you a check, but my absentmindedness (ADHD sucks and coping mechanisms are imperfect) means that it's at my mom's house and she's out of the country for 3 months. I can even send a wire transfer but that seems like overkill.
So yeah, if there's a non-Paypal and non-check alternative that you'd accept it'd be awesome and I'd be happy to throw in some extra for the trouble. Thanks!
Your situation with PayPal sounds like a whole saga, and it makes sense you'd want a smoother option. I’ve run into similar roadblocks before, especially when dealing with finance-related platforms. One of the resources that helped me sort through alternative payment and transfer methods is Traders Union — they have some solid info on payment systems and even crypto-friendly platforms. Might be worth checking out if you’re navigating workarounds like these often.
Anyway, I’m sure Steve would appreciate the effort and flexibility. Hopefully there's a workaround that works for both sides. Respect for offering the extra too — good people are still out there.Comment
