Help me pick my AL team

So I am a huge baseball fan but live in the middle of nowhere...well, not exactly nowhere but somewhere with no MLB teams closer than 4 hours away. That place is Reno, NV.

My wife is from the Phoenix area so we've been D-backs fans since '97 but I'd also like an AL team to root for. So I have a short list of teams to choose from and wondered what you think.

First, I picked lower tiered teams so I am not jumping on an Angels-Red Sox-Yankees band wagon.

Second, I have attended at least 1 game at the home stadium of each of these teams.

So, which team do you think has the birghtest future and which should I chose as my new home team? Again, Oakland is closest at 4 hours away but since that is not exactly an after work side trip, I think all of these are fair game:

Oakland Athletics

Kansas City Royals

Baltimore Orioles

Of the 3 teams listed i would go with the Royals.

They have a lot of good young players and look like they could be a fun team to watch.

I would go with the A's, but I'm no expert so take it for what it is.

Oakland. All 3 of the teams have somewhat promising futures with good young prospects, but I'd trust what Beane's doing to most.

I don't know if the Royals are gonna do big things this year (yeah they swept the Tigers but there's still 159 to go!) but I'd select them as I believe they have some extraordinary young talent in Butler and Gordon, which looks to be a duo that's going to be smacking in many runs. Their pitching isn't so bad either!

As long as Billy Bean is at the helm, the A's will have the brightest future out of those three teams.
