Good Article on Loria and the fleecing of baseball fans in South Florida.

Honestly, how is this guy an owner. He has no desire to win championships, just m(t)ake money. I have no love for Daniel Synder but alteast he spends money and attempt to win championships.

To get money from revenue sharing and and not use that to improve your team is criminal. I just think it's funny A-Rod makes 28 million, Loria gets about 25 million from MLB and the Marlin players make about 20 mill total.

It's only a matter of time before Cameron Maybin, Andrew Miller are trade bait.

Some owners have complained about the way Loria uses the money he gets from revenue sharing. Most of the complaints go back to 2006 when Loria got $30 million in revenue sharing and kept the Marlins payroll at around $15 million for the whole season, basically pocketing half of the money. Some will say that the Marlins (and teams like them) suffer substantial financial losses over the course of a season, the purpose of the revenue sharing was so small market teams could spend more money on players, not covering their losses.

I'm not the biggest Loria fan but that article doesn't mention that he doesnt get any revenue from concession sales, none from parking, and gets a good percentage of ticket sales, not all though, every time the team is in contention he puts up more money to go get somebody. He's not a good guy to have owning a team, but he is pretty well handicapped in the situation he is in. Thats why the new stadium is so important, even though personally i dont think that many people are going to be going to games in the area they are going to be building the new stadium.

almost every marlins fan I talk to is fine with how the team is ran. Yeah they always have a firesale and go young, but they also always seem to be in contention every few years before they wash and repeat. For many people, that's better than sucking *** for 100 years.

Until baseball either adds a basement salary cap, or kicks out the deadbeat owners who don't give a damn about spending money to win, then it's the system allowing teams to do this.

The Marlins are awesome! they have a great young team full of Stars! the way that the Marlins has been managed is the way it should be, getting young talent every where instead of paying $$$$$, it is always better to find talent instead paying for it. The Team is a serious contender to win the East, poor Mets....
