Re: Halfway through spring training, OFFICIAL SEASON PREDICTIONS!!

I know it's WAY too early to say this but here are my 2003 Season Predictions for this year:

AL East - Yankees - solid lineup; solid staff; questionable bullpen

AL Central - WhiteSox - Colon/Buehrle a mirror of Schilling/Johnson? Thomas will resurge this year helping out Ordonez. Konerko is questionable after 2nd half dropoff in stats last year. Stupidly gave up on Foulke early last year but Koch will get his saves this year.

AL West - Athletics - Mulder, Hudson, Zito, Tejada *thumbs up*

AL Wildcard - RedSox - I say this every year but I'm never right

AL Surprise Team - Angels - Some say last year was fluke. Depth Chart definitely did not change much. They will retain the team's chemistry between the players again this year. Quite underrated.

NL East - Braves - gotta love thier new staff of Maddux, Ortiz, Byrd, Marquis & Hampton. Leo Mazzeoni says Hampton is still one of the best pitchers in baseball.

NL Central - Astros - Biggio will rebound from a bad 2002. Kent, Bagwell, Berkman will be a great 3-4-5. Pitching is a sore thumb after Oswalt and Miller.

NL West - Giants - Durham will have alot of steals and runs, Aurilia will return to 2001 form, Bonds will dominate most stat categories once again, Alfonzo had great #'s on the Mets last year except for RBIs due to the team's lack of offense; RBIs will definitely go up this year, Cruz will still K alot and maintain a below .250 AVG but will be a decent OF in the long run, Benito Santiago: You know what they say, things get better with age.

NL Wildcard - Diamondbacks - Schilling & Johnson 'Nuff Said. Kim never impressed me as a closer; doubt he'll impress me as a starter. Pitching is poor after the BIG 2. Offense needs work as usual but as my friend Eric would say: Pitching Wins Games.

NL Surprise Team - Mets - Alomar will do better this year. Vaughn has lost weight and regained his swing in Spring Training. Floyd has poor stats at Shea but will adapt as the season goes on. Glavine/Leiter: another formidable 1-2 punch.

The first post was wrong because the Cardinals and Astros can't play each other the first round because they are from the same division. I say the Cardinals will win it all! I'm biased, so what. I really think they have as good of chance as anyone though. They just need one more ace pitcher.

2 words for alll of you selecting the Red Sux as the champs.... BABE RUTH!!!!

Boston has never been anything, nor will they ever, and to think the Yankees won't do anything with 7 quality starters, and that line up, you must be on drugs. It's ok, I like seeing Boston fans cry, makes me feel good deep down.

I like Houston in the NL, but I don't think they would hold up against the Yankees in a 7 game series... Yanks over Houston in 5... only cause i think Miller would give the Yanks a hard time with that sinker ball of his... Oswalts curve will get pounded on like no tommorow by guuys like Bernie and Giambi.

AL East: Yankees (too much depth to overcome)

AL Central: Twins (great defense, depth)

AL West: A's (great pitching, better defense)

AL Wildcard: Chicago (great hitting might overcome horrible defense)

NL East: Phillies (great power, solid rotation)

NL Central: Astros (great hitting, decent pitching might overcome horrible defense)

NL West: Giants (best of an average division)

                        NL Wildcard: Atlanta (deep rotation)

I can't wait for the season to start!
