    Frustrating Baserunning Bug?? (PS2 ver)

this happens to me all the time. I will get a runner on 1st. I will then attemp to sac bunt and I will lay down the bunt and then I press "L1" to advance the runner , but for some reason, this sends him back to 1st!!!!! If I don't press anything, he will go to 2nd by himself. I dont get it. Are u not supposed to press "L1" to advance the runner if he has already started running on his own? Why this buttin sends him back to 1st is beyond me....."R1" is supposed to do that. Anyone?

The only questionable running problem I have seen is my runner on first stealing when I input no command, but that could be something I am inadvertantly doing?

I have it rented for ps2, can somebody with the game give me the basic running buttons besides L1 and R1? Blockbuster doesn't give instructions with their games. I want to know how to control individual runners. Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hold /\ and the base the runner is ON, to advance the runner, can' remember whether its [] or O + base to send him back (I'm at work.)

I do this in hit and run or sac bunt situations. with runner on first, when the windup starts I hit the /\ and press D-pad right(where runner is, on first-base) and he'll take off towards second. Then I try (usually without much success as I suck at hitting) to get the hit or bunt.

Baserunning....I had some trouble also, I know you can do it with the dpad and the buttons, but I have trouble,...however, if you use the analog stick and the triangle or circle button, then you will never have trouble. Use the stick and always point in the direction the base runner is currently at (not the one you want him to goto)...but if he is inbetween 1st and 2nd, and you want him to go back to 1st, then point towards first and the circle button. Use the analog stick, never had a problem with it!

But with only one baserunner, I thought it would be easier to just use the L1 or R1 buttons. Problem is after the baserunner takes off, pressing L1 sends hime back for some odd reason. The computer kind of handles baserunning for you if youo dont press any buttons. I wonder why there isnt a choice for auto baserunning or manual?

well, obviously I was talking about multiple runners and you want them doing seperate things. I haven't ever had a problem with the cpu taking over for my baserunning, I don't think there is even an option for that.
