    FATPITCHER

Would you be kind enough to comment on the review from IGN?

    Re: FATPITCHER

Is it okay if i post in this thread? I just read the review, and it was okay (not as detailed as i would have liked, but it is IGN). The scores definitely were good.

I just wanted to ask a question regarding Hil's complaint about presentation - specificially the action replay. He states that the replays start too late in the play and that he would like to see the whole play in a replay. But he didn't go on to say if there is any manual replay, where you can view the whole thing if you wanted to. Does this feature exist? I know in NFL2k3, some of the automatic replays started late in the play, but it had a wonderful manual replay system, so to me it was a really small issue. Is that the case with WSB?

Last year's game had manual replay. I can't see why this would be ommited from this year's version.

Okay, thanks. That's good enough for me. So this being the case, i think it was a bit unfair of Hil to dock points from the presentation score. It's basically a moot point.

I honestly think they were also taking away from presentation the fact that it doesnt have all the extras that ASB has. To me, not a big deal. Their score really didn't reflect the fact that it was a problem and I definately dont think its a game killer, or worthy of docking for presentation. Hopefully WSB holds up to IGN's score. I know I will be sitting in front of Babbages waiting for the UPS guy to show up to get my game on Wednesday.

We actually do have ball-bouncing-off-head physics. I've only seen it happen once, though, and the backup fielder grabbed it off the bounce for the out.

I also don't agree that hitting HRs with contact swings is close to impossible...what happens is that people are usually gonna use the power swing for their HR hitters, and use the contact swing for the Greg Grosses of the world. Naturally, they won't see many HRs using contact swing like that.

Other than that, the complaints brought up are legitimate (action replays starting too late, most cut-scenes are from last year, ball doesn't bounce when thrown to 1st from the infield, pitch selection isn't as big as other games, no player scaling). To clarify, there are NO broken bats at all.

Seems a little skimpy on the nitty-gritty stuff like walks/game and sliders and such, but that's what OS is for.

No broken bats are still not a problem to me. If everything else is as good as Im hearing I'll be happy.
