Damn it man!!!!!!!!

I'm stumped. I cant find a hitting style for me.
I play Classic= to many homers, 3 of 3 times I tried the cursor.

Tried normal= I dont like the fact I can pick where I wanna hit + to many homers on power. No groundballs.

I may just have to go bavk to zone even tho I was just hitting to center field all day but this batting style evens out my adverages.

I feel I'm just not having fun with the cursors, to easy to get a hit IMO. I dont know if anyone can relate to this but I feel like I just cant find my niche in this game. I love it to death but the batter/pitcher interface needs some work. Damn it, there goes my enjoyment cause I know that when playing zone I'm not gonna be able to hit fouls or down the line. FUC! :-(

Feel the same way to. Scoring is low, hitting is very difficult. Pitches especially any high/low fastballs are impossible to hit.

One thing that has helped a bit is changing the pitches to exaggerated.

Overall dissapointed with the game. This could have been the baseball game to own this year. Gameplay errors, hitting difficulty, stat errors, and some other features left out or not included in the game.

This is what I do, but it takes a load of self-discipline.

                Normal batting on all-star but:

DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELF TO MANIPULATE THE CURSOR WHATSOEVER UNTIL AFTER THE PITCH IS RELEASED!!!!

No camping low in the strikezone, no pre-tilting the cursor, no power swing. For me, not using these "crutches" was incredibly difficult, they were a tough, tough habit to break. Especially when the game was close, and I REALLY needed a hit. But the reward is worth the frustration. Driving the ball without these built-in cheats is the most satisfying thing I've ever accomplished in a sports game.

Normal pitches. None of that fantasy/whiffle/sloooooooow pitch crap. HE-MAN PITCHES. ( I don't want to offend anyone using exxaggerated pitching, it takes time to digest these pitch speeds and it's taken me a loooong time to get the hang of it and I still strike-out so this is meant only for those who say they are hitting is too easy but still use floaty-pitch mode.)

This method is very, VERY frustrating and will result in numerous strikeouts(at first). But like you I was starting to find the cursor batting a little easy. I found myself always parking my meter low in the zone because a majority of pitch types have some type of sinking action. Also, most pitchers strive to keep their pitches down in the zone so by having the cursor low, I always had a "headstart" on the pitch. I also had a habit of tilting the cursor up to generate some lift and usually aimed to pull the ball to the gaps. Like it's been said before, this is unnatural because while real players may know which way they want to take the pitch, it shouldn't be as easy as it is with the 3D cursor.

With this new method I find myself hitting more ground balls because I can't get to low pitches as well as before and hitting homeruns without the power cursor is ALOT harder but not impossible.

The catch to this method is the complete satisfaction that you receive when you can really see a good pitch and are able to tilt the cursor ever so slightly in that split second before you swing . This method is the ultimate challenge(IMO), produces more grounders, less HR's, and basically makes hardcore gamers "feel" better about the use of the 3D icon. If this type of hitting is still too easy, then you must have the hand/eye coordination of a 14 year old speed junkie.

I needed BP, BP and more BP. Good luck!

Hmm... interesting, how can you blast that many homers? Usually when I use the power icon, I pop it up, or hit a fast grounder (occasionally). I didn't get a single dinger with classic. So far, my home run production came from the small use of easy batting, which I activate when I'm down by a lot, or if my team's K's are getting too high. Other than that, I can make contact with about every ball in normal batting, it's just that not many of them get through for hits and homers.

ASB batting can be tweaked to death. With so many options, the combinations available to us are limitless. I personally don't have a huge problem with the power swing and homers, but for those who do there are options to fix it. I try not to use the power stroke because not using it makes a HR a SERIOUS accomplishment. The batting method I'm talking about is almost like a Hall of Fame difficulty level for people like Graphik who are finding it too easy to hit with the normal cursor.

I wish ASB had an option to disable or hide the 3D batting icon until the pitch is released and an option to disable the ball locator. While i'm wishing I wish the batting was trigger based like WSB2k1(XBOX only), I wish swing timing mattered (for pulling/going opposite field). Add a pitch speed slider an VIOLA! MY perfect batting interface.

                        Ah well.........
