I was VERY encouraged to read that update, thank you! I pre-ordered it already, but a few things made me feel more confident.

#1. How cool is it that they added the center field cam and kept it under wraps this long? I guess that last 15% that was missing from the preview build was quite significant. Usually companies tout all of their features right up front. Kudos to EA for still adding features right up until release.

#2. Great to see that they have been tuning the baserunning speed in relation to arm strength on the OF. I started to get paranoid with all of these horror stories of people getting gunned down at first after hitting a 'base hit'.

Thanks Operation Sports for getting the skinny! You guys are the best, and it also is good to see the game developers pay attention to our posts here. We actually do have a voice. Now my only concern is that I don't go crazy waiting for that phone call from Gamestop to tell me it's in!

The two best things I've heard about this game in a week:

                1) "Brent/Jason: This is very much a Sim"

                2) "Brent/Jason: There are over 40 rating categories and over 130 stat categories. Each player has been designed to play exactly like they do in real life. This is what drives the authentic gameplay in MVP Baseball 2003. Gone are the days of Rey Ordonez hitting 20 HR’s in a Season. "

If this game is even half as good as the interviewees here say, it's easily going to be the best game on the market this year.

OMG -- BEHIND THE PITCHER CAM !!!!
In watching the movies, this view almost looks better than WSB's behing the pitcher cam but I thought it was only for replays. This just turned from a must buy to gotta have it for me !!!!

In my 85% build, it wasn't in there. It's DEFINITELY great news to see this implemented!!

Will you be able to control head-first and feet-first slides?

Jason: Yes! Players will slide feet-first when the slide button is pressed. However, if you push up on the left analog stick before you press the Slide button you will go in head-first. This is rather strategic because head-first slides will get you into the base quicker to avoid tags, but feet-first slides make you pop up faster so that you can react to throwing errors and perhaps grab another base.
