Why aren't we talking about Chipper Jones?

look at those numbers... OPS of 1.2 at present, with a 10+ game hitting streak, 5 of which were multi-hit games.

I don't like him or the braves, but good lord....

have i missed something or is he not being given that much attention so far?

Because it's assumed that he'll be injured at some point in the year.

Ha, that and it's 20 games into the season.

He actual re-injured his quad yesterday so he might miss tonight's game. He's locked in right now, though.

I beg to differ. Barry Bonds accomplished that feat no more than an hour ago.

No one is talking about him because it's Chipper Jones and his numbers shouldn't surprise anyone.

He's always been one of the best players in baseball but he does it quietly. His numbers speak for themselves.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
