Just got a little more competitive for WSB !!

In checking out the MVP boards it has been revealed there is a behind-the-pitcher cam in the final version. This is HUGE !!
While overall I think WSB2K3 will be the game to have this year, MVP has turned into a must buy now with this added feature. The behind-the-pitcher cam is the # 1 selling point for me in both games, it is something which every baseball game should have and adds to the authenticity of real baseball sim. In viewing some of the movies for MVP, more in the replay mode, the behind the pitcher cam looked really good and had everyone saying "I wish you could play from that angle".
    Well now you can.
2 great baseball games this season although WSB looks like it will be # 1 overall.

I actually love the Catchers glove feature!...i cant beleive no other baseball game in all these years has never thought about putting the catcher glove on the screen!....i think this really adds to the realism!

damn, i didn't hear that, that is VERY good news. I got so used to pitching from that view in HH2003 next year that i was dreading having to go back to the old way. If MVP truly does have the behind the pitcher cam it just gained a few points with me....

            Very cool.

I wonder if any of the future games will try to setup a true first person view from the pitcher's eyes? It would be kinda fun to pitch that way.

I am pumped to see the catchers glove as well.

GameStop is getting both WSB 2K3 and MVP for the Xbox in tomorrow. Anyone know fo a retailer that will be getting them in today?

This is going back probably five years but one of the games ( i think it was MLB but I'm not sure) had a first person view from the batters eyes while hitting. It was very difficult to hit like that and the reviews said to stay away from it.

the review is up on mvp at ign and i must say its disappointing
a huge flaw is since the computer does the diving and jumping for the user, you could be standing right below a fly ball and the computer decides to dive and you miss the ball
thats a game killer for me
how can you ship a game with that big a flaw

I bet they knew about the flaw but due to time constraints (the game HAVING to ship before the start of the season), they couldn't do anything about it. I'm guessing the jumping/diving code was 50% done. The other 50% was user control and that was not finished in time.

MVP looks good but this year's version is definitely the version to not waste $50 on. "Maybe next year..."

Until you play the game no one really knows what is a waste or not. Also Steve never had this "diving" problem, at least he never mentioned it.
