Yes, only if they can get him to sign to an incentive-laden contract

Yes. They just got rid of their top offensive player from last season and they need the bat in the lineup. Even with all the trouble surrounding him, he still is one of the top power hitters in the game and will produce.

Now do I want the Blue Jays to sign him? No way. I don't want to have the Yankees facing him 15 times this year. He might homer off Mussina in every AB.

I was pretty strongly against it, but the more I think about it the more I'm starting to like it. Is he a complete ******* and likely a cheater? Yes, but how many other *******s or cheaters are there still in the MLB? Lots. If it would help the team win, and he wouldn't cause a disruption in the clubhouse (and Accardo seems to indicate he's fine) then I guess I see no reason not to. Not that I'm holding my breath, mind you. I don't think Uncle Ted wants to take that one to the shareholders.

Yes, but it has to be incentive laden. If they can land Bonds at a potentially cheap price on the base salary then i'm all for it.

I never thought i'd want Bonds on my team but the RISP stat is killing this team and i'm pretty sure with Bonds in the middle of the lineup that that'll change.

With Bonds's legal issues he may not even be allowed to leave the united states which would mean he could only play in the Jays road games, which would do little for the team.

With Scott Rolen set to return soon i would not be surprised to see him DH a bit so the Jays can get Marco Scutaro or John McDonald in the field more often.

            1) Bonds will be permitted to go to Canada, that's already been checked out.
            2) Rolen's like the best defensive 3B in the history of baseball not named Brooks Robinson, he'll be playing 3B everyday.

Yes, they should sell their souls and nab him to try and push for a playoff spot. I don't like Barry, but if he can still swing a bat then he should be a DH somewhere.

Is signing Bonds going to put them over the top of the Yankees and Red Sox?

If not, there's no way in hell they should even consider this with all his legal issues.

Signing Bonds makes too much sense for the Jays so it won't happen. JP has already said there are too many other issues surround Bonds.

The team has no problem employing a proven cheater (Zaun) yet they don't want to touch Bonds.

Even at his age, there's no doubt in my mind Bonds would be able to put up a .275/.400/.520 line.
