    Ground balls/fly balls

For everyone that has been complaining about this discrepancy, I have noticed while playing with the Cubs that Mark Prior gets many more groundballs than any of my other pitchers. Also, certain teams (Mets) hit very few, while others (Expos, Angels in spring training) hit many.

It's pretty neat, I think, that the game seems to really depend upon which players are in the game, and what their strengths are. I don't think there is a ground ball/fly ball ratio or anything like that in the ratings section, but Prior definitely leads the team in ground balls induced.

I have definitely hit more fly balls than ground balls, but I have always attributed it to the way I swing.

I have gotten much better variations in hits in this year's game though. Still more fly balls than anything else, but a good variety of hits...I've seen the grounders going in-between the 1B and 2B and in-between the 3B and SS...I've seen line drives to the gaps...I've seen bloop singles...I've seen HR's just barely make it over the wall...I've seen HR bombs.

About the only thing I haven't seen is a screamer down the lines.

As for me pitching, with the White Sox, I have only given up about 5 ground balls in two games....not too good there...but I am playing the Royals, so I am holding my opinion until I get some more time in.

I've seen a couple down the line, including a home run from Alomar that hit the RF foul pole. (Interesting though, because I noticed the first base umpire signaling it foul. Game counted the run, however.)

I hit more fly balls because I'm trying to blast some to the stands with my power guys, most of the grounders come from my contact people.
