After reading the subject title, I thought you were simply going to type, "Sucks."

Andruw is done. He just can't swing the bat anymore.

It's truly a shame that a guy who is that phenomenal of a fielder cannot even hit his own weight.

He's been done for two years...his average after the first month of 2006 is under .230. He is a 30 year old with the body of a 35 year old...he didn't take care of himself and he has played a lot of games. Too bad because he could have been a HOFer.

It's just amazing to see a 30 year old coming off two impressive power seasons in 2005 and 2006 just fall so hard the past season and this season.

His numbers seriously look like something the below average player should achieve in a single series. Those are his $15 million numbers after a month...

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Its so much of a about face turn around, that maybe he had a little help before. His weight has ballooned and he hasn't recovered as quickly as he has in the past. Not saying it is steroids, but maybe he was using some type of "uppers" that were also outlawed. He is getting older and hasn't taken many days off in the past, but you usually don't see players fall off that fast in 1 year.

His mechanics are so out of wack its not funny. Problem is that he doesnt seem to listen or want to change his swing. He just wants to hit homers I guess .. He is a much better hitter than what he did last season and so far this season. I even think he can hit .300 again if he would just stop trying to yank everything down the line for a homer.

Sadly, statistically speaking right now, no he isn't. In 29 fewer AB's than Jones Pierre has more hits, more RBI's, a higher OBP and a higher OPS.

He will not change his swing at all, you are talking to a brick wall if you are trying to change that. Terry Pendleton tried to get him to stop pulling everything and supposedly he fixed it in batting practice, but he wouldn't do it in a game. There was a few games where he would, but then he would go right back. TP was pissed at him and I think he basically gave up. There were times where he would be shaking his head, rolling his eyes, looking away, etc whenever Andruw struck out or pulled the ball on the ground for a double play.
