There is a gigantic "Today's Transactions" thread for this type of thing.

well this is more than a transaction. This is pretty big to the some people. Jones has been a consistent players for years and years and he has struggled this season along with alot of other Tigers. Now Leyland is putting Sheffield in left because Sheffield says he gets more into the game if he plays leftfield.

The bats (for the most part) aren't the problem.

        The problems are these:

        1. The starting pitching sucks, and for some reason Chuck Hernandez is still employed.

        2. Carlos Guillen is a butcher. Why he was moved to 3rd makes no sense.

        3. Sheffield sucks. He's not 100%, but he's a black hole right now. He should be benched until he's healthy and Guillen should be DH'ing.

Jones was a dissapointment last year in Chicago, even though he stepped it up in the second half as he typically does his combined stats for the entire year wasnt worth his net pay

It was weird when I saw Miguel Cabrera the other night at first base.

I agree with everything but the bats part. At this point there are more problems than I have time to list. But batting is one of them. Our stats are misleading because of the Texas series where we score all of our runs. We've hit into a million double plays this year and can't do a thing with RISP. 1,2, and 3 are all absolutely true though. I think McClendon should go too at this point.

Keep in mind I made that post 10 days ago.

Right now everything about the team sucks. No hitting, no pitching, no heart, no hustle. They're a bunch of mercenaries. Leyland tries to deflect blame from idiots like Hernandez and McClendon. They're all to blame, and I wouldn't care if they were all fired.

                    Consistent?

                    2004 - .254 - 24 HR - 80 RBIs - 117 Ks
                    2005 - .249 - 23 HR - 73 RBIs - 120 Ks
                    2006 - .285 - 27 HR - 81 RBIs - 116 Ks
                    2007 - .285 - 5 HR - 66 RBIs - 70 Ks
                    2008 - .165 - HR - 5 RBIs - 18 Ks - 13/79

Yeah, he's consistent at not being very good.
