Do you guys realize how great this is!? I'm wondering if any of you guys feel like the cpu has gone cheesy? frome what you've all described, it just sounds the game may have adjusted and is requiring you to step up your game!

I was losing a lot but then started my season for real with the Cubs and I am currently 4-1 on All-Star, hitting is not a problem, I did lower the CPU hitting and Power on notch and the sim up 2. But this is definitely harder than previous years and an awesome game.

I love this. Post more "strategy" or season stories. Hearing your ideas make our high heat experience collectively better! My Dodgers season was on All-Star level from the beginning. Struggled early (losing 3 straights, then battling myself to .500). As I posted in another thread, I have since won 14 straight!! I sim 1 game per each series.

I have adjusted the sliders to give the CPU a little advantage in hitting ability (cuz I don't want to jump up to MVP right away.... a little scared there ). I am actually on spring break starting today! So I'll be playing a lot more.... looking foward to it.

Next up: Nomo goes on the mount to face the Padres!!

Oh yeah, by the way, it's really obvious that a guy is chasing bad pitches. I can detect that almost right away (on the first pitch). If I find a guy like that, then it's easy. Keep throwing balls but they have to be close enough to the plate without being strikes. The batter will swing at almost every ball. It's a guarenteed K for me.

The guy that swings at everything bothers me. It's a leftover from year's gone by and I don't like it because it's too predictable.

If he's up I know I have a K because I can just throw whatever. And the thing is you know this guy is up from the first pitch. It would be nice if he was a little less obvious.

fouls +2

And that's it.

The one thing that does bother me and I don't think it happen last year, is that come of the breaking balls have so much curve they go behind my batter. So you have to pick up the ball almost where it crosses the plate.

Ouch... just lost to the Padres 8-2... so much for my 14-game winning streak. Nomo went only 4 IP, gave up 8 runs on 10 hits, but he did strike out 8. This was a weird game. The strike out effect was really bad. So many batters swinging at bad pitches (even a good hitter like Nevin was doing it). I struck out a total number of 13 in the game (All Ks are on 3 pitches, too). This is the first time it's happened.

Perhaps the Padres were particularly impatient tonight.

Well, you can add 2 more losses to my previous post of 6 straight losses for my Phillies. 8-7 and 5-2 to the Brew-Crew. This game is a little Madden-esque with the "Robo-comeback" rearing it's ugly head. I have choked away late game leads in almost all of these losses. In my 10-1 loss to the Braves......it was 1-1 in the 9th inning. OUCH!!!

Played 2 more games and i'm still getting hammered. 14-6 to the Angels and 10-0 to the Padres OUCH. Padres game was going so well after 4 innings there was no score and only 3 hits between both teams. Then in the 5th inning the Padres had 1st and 2nd with 2 outs, still no score.

Then one base hit after another, giving up 5 runs this inning. Believe Wilson was pitching and pitch location didnt seem to matter as the San Diego just started stringing hits together. When i lowered all baserunning speeds i also lowered fielders speed a notch. Gotta move those back up because everytime the other team hits a ball down the line or in the gap it takes forever for a fielder to reach the ball, very noticeable.

I'm struggling a bit with hitting in that im using the dpad to locate the ball. Starting out i just timed my batting. But it is very satisfying to locate and swing the bat in a split second and be successful. Frustrating at times but still having fun is HH.
