FatPitcher, one more question please. Is the 480p mode actually 16:9? It looks stretched to me (surprisingly), and I've seen several other people say they are absolutely positive that 480p is not displaying as 16:9 but stretched 4:3 instead, even though they have 480p enabled in the dashboard. I know that sounds crazy, but could you please clarify one way or the other? 720p is the way I'm playing, and it's definitely 16:9, but I know two other people who are trying to find out about 480p mode. Thanks.

I'm guessing it's stretched. The way to tell would be if the HUD elements (pitch history, score) are near the left/right edges of the screen, or if they're more towards the middle.

Hey Thadeus, any chance of me seeing the game running on the dlp? I am seriously considering buying the 43 inch dlp from sammy but haven't seen any xbox high def sources yet! Would be very much appreciated if anybody could put up some screens of the game running in HD ! :-)

You should be set. As far as I can recall all DLP, LCD, and Plasma televisions are native 720p.

Hey Fat Pitcher, thanks for your input!

I am going to take this opportunity to ask why Sega is screwing around with 720P? It is a real-crap shoot getting that resolution to work on most HDTVs, it sure doesn't work on my Toshiba. The "up-sampling" to 1080i doesn't seem to work for alot of people.

So my question is this: why 720P? all HDTVs support 1080i, why not go for that? Is the x-box not up to 1080i for a high-quality graphics game like WSB? Would it mean choppy frame-rate?

            Thanks!

I can confirm that 480p is 4:3 only. No widescreen support unless your HDTV supports 720p natively, or will convert a 720p signal (to either 1080i or 480p).

This sucks, why on Earth would they give the game 16:9 support, but only in one resolution?

NBA 2k3 is 16:9 in both 720p and 480p, but not WSB 2k3? This can't be intentional, maybe it's a screw up?
