    The ESPN Baseball Encyclopedia

I just picked this up at the local bookstore, and wow it is impressive. Its basically like Baseball-Reference.com and BaseballAlmanac.com in print. It truly is a complete encyclopedia on Baseball, every player, season, manager is covered. Its about the size of a phone book and uses the same type of newsprint. Only 16 dollars on Amazon. Wondering if anybody else has picked this up.

    Really is a good deal:

I picked this up also....pretty good..but here is the KING...strangely enough titled the Baseball Encyclopedia!

    ...

This tenth edition has been out for some time now and is missing the last 8 years or so. Can't wait for the eleventh edition!

But for the price you're right.....the ESPN edition is VERY good!

The only problem with books is they can never update (unless you buy the new edition). I'm wondering when I should pick one up whilst in fear of this.

      They release them every year?
      Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60

        ESPN releases their's every year.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

got mine for this year... there was also another one that used to come out which was cheaper, and broke down everything by year, then team.. at the back were the career stats of all the players

(I think it was by Neft and Cohen).. Sadly, I didn't see them publish one this year
