Stealing Bases??

Has anyone been able to do so? I tried with Ichiro (after he got on a sweet drag bunt) but was thrown out by Piazza of all people.

So, have you guys been able to steal bases yet?

I haven't really tried I just figured out how.

Pressing the directional pad is a different method but seems to work fine.

Did you increase your lead off before trying to steal? There should be no contest between these two players anyways.lol. I kinda like this game, though I wish it had all the little details that ASB has. Its fun just to pick up and play for an hour or so.

I have tried and have been successful some and other not so much
I just got done finished player a few hours of WSBB and can say that I will be keeping both. WSBB is very nice but the MVP Pitcher batter "strategy" is very cool. I am going to play some more MVP now.

It seems the only way to steal is obviously with someone that has speed, but more importantly you need to take a good lead off. Now this means playing "the game" with the pitcher, and I have been picked off, but otherwise with a small lead they seem to gun you down a lot. The only thing that sucks is that when you get up to bat, you don't have much time to take your lead unless you're taking all the way on the first pitch.

I have been taking the largest leads possible but still w/ no success. Of course I've been trying with the likes of Pokey Reese and Jason Kendall, so.

On another note, I love being able to pick off people. Adam Dunn had too big of a lead and I gunned it over and nailed him. Wasn't even close.

Has anyone noticed if what pitch is thrown affects whether a steal is successful (like it obviously should)? Or is it just speed/lead of the runner and the catcher's rating?
