    2008 MLB Draft

So has anyone been keeping up with news of the amateur draft? Who are some players you all like? Who do you want your team to take/Who do you hope falls to you team? I'm hoping Eric Hosmer somehow ends up as the Porcello of this years draft and can fall to 28 because of Scott Boras' bonus demands. More realistically I'd be happy if the Yankees took Kyle Lobstein.

Here are a couple sites with info and some scouting reports:

I'm hoping that Tim Beckham or Pedro Alvarez falls to the Orioles at #4, and I also hope that they don't take Brian Matusz if neither of the first two guys are available.

God I hope the Royals get Buster Posey out of FSU.

Word is that he'll go #1 to Tampa Bay, but I'm sure that could change.

Posey and Tim Beckham are the two names most mentioned in connection with Tampa Bay I believe.

Nothing really, but the Orioles have like 10-12 legit pitching prospects right now, and the only hitting prospects we really have are Matt Wieters, Bill Rowell, and Brandon Snyder. We need more bats, especially in the infield, which is why I hope T-Becks falls to #4.

He was just named the National Player of the Year today.

Someone you guys should watch for in the top 10 rounds is two-sport star Kyle Hudson from the University of Illinois. He has alot of raw talent in baseball, mostly because he is part-time baseball, and full-time football player. He has blazing speed.

I think I read something like somewhere in rounds 3-7 for Long. Sky high ceiling but super super raw.

I hope Jeremy Hamilton and Justin Parker from Wright State get drafted in the first couple rounds. Jeremy Hamilton is the 104th rated prospect in the draft and Justin Parker is 125th rated prospect by baseball america.

I like the idea of the having a draft of the surviving Negor League players before the main draft today. All 30 Major League teams will symbolically draft one player.

This will be a special event.
