I've had this problem one time and I just got the game. I think its your xbox. I got mine at launch and it does that every once in a while with the newer games. No big deal though.

Re: WHY, WHY, WHY?
Well this happens everytime I start up the game. Tried my other games and they work fine. First time this has happened to me. I'm pretty sure it's not my Xbox and it's a bad disc. Like Nivek said, others have had problems. Looks like a number of faulty discs of MVP 2003 for the Xbox were shipped out. How could EA [censored] up on this one??Comment

Re: WHY, WHY, WHY?
I guess there is no quality control testing after they print the disk.
While not a major problem, it sucks for those with faulty disked, because you now you have to return it and hopefully get a error free disk. Its a waste of our/your time, but since its not purposeful, it can(maybe) be forgiven.Vi Veri Universum Vivus Vici

Re: WHY, WHY, WHY?
Peter,
I was reading this on another board, and this may be the answer to your porblem (sort of).
I dont know if you use the XBox demo discs alot, but supposedly thats the cause of your current problem.
Heres a link to the post over at gamefaqs where i read it
DDE Problem
Also, supposedly, MS doesnt support the problem, which offically sucks.
I hope this is of some help to u.Vi Veri Universum Vivus Vici

Re: WHY, WHY, WHY?
Here are some things I learned from other forums when all of the NCAA 2003 football problems were going on... If you eject the disc mid-game, among other things, you would mess up the "cache" file that the hard drive uses when loading up that specific game. The fix for NCAA 2003 was to clear out any files from the game on your hard drive and start over (which sucked for those that had been working on dynasties, although a transfer to a memory card was possible).
The things I read that gamers were saying to do were:
1. Don't use the "eject" button to turn on your Xbox
2. Always exit to a main menu within the game before ejecting the disc
3. Never leave a game in the drive when you turn off the machine (it could screw things up the next time you turn on the Xbox)
4. Don't turn your Xbox off when the green light is still blinking
Now I don't have any verification of those items, but I've had an Xbox since launch, I've always followed those guidelines, and I've never encountered a "freeze" problem.

Re: WHY, WHY, WHY?
Peter,
Unfortunately, I cant answer that. I was trying to pass on some info that i read in an attempt to help you solve your problem.
Its seems that maybe this isnt your problem, but maybe someone elses. I just hope you get a new copy that doesnt act wacky.Vi Veri Universum Vivus Vici
