    K secrets and other tidbits

First of all, glad to see most of you agree with my impressions on MVP. It may or may not be the best game out, but it's g-damn well the one I'm playing the most.

I've had as many as 7 k's with my starter, and I'm playing with the Indians, who have a pretty average staff. Here are some tips/observations.

Yes, they will swing at balls out of the strike zone. Not as often as you'd like, but they will. Especially in 3-2 counts.

With 0-2, 1-2, etc. counts they will slap balls around...Instead of being aggressive, they are prone to bloop hit, go to the opposite field, etc. Use this knowledge to set them up..a hitter in the hole 0-2 looking to slap the ball to right field will be more than happy to see a low fastball. Think and throw, and don't always think u have to nibble to get a K.

Relievers seem to have better shots at K's...don't know why, but it seems true. I regularly strike out 2 or 3 batters in a couple innings with my relievers.

Mistake pitches often make the hitters anxious and they swing and miss. Not a recommended way of k-ing batters, but something good to know.

Just curious here...u guys seeing the CPU homer much? Other than a couple mistake pitches hit out, the CPU might have 4 homers vs. me on regular pitches. That's in 30 games, and starting to become a problem. I want to FEAR the HR.

It could be the factor that no one is pitching to the CPU's hot zone.

I noticed that if you nibble around there they will be more prone to swing at the risk of getting hit.

It might not have AI like HH or features like ASB or even fancy graphics like WSB but it's a lot of fun. After the pitching/batting system in MVP the cursor doesn't seem all the fun now.

Couldn't have said it better. Don't get me wrong..I love WSBB also but once you do the MVP thing it is sort of like going backwards in time playing with a cursor. The only thing I wish MVP had was more varied hits....(And why can't I get many strike outs on the CPU!!!!! )

            Whip,

since you've had the game for a while, how easy is for you?

yea, ive had the same problem, 13 games played 0 homeruns by the computer. I always pitch to the cold zones and keep it low, computer seems to lack some serious power. Pitching is great though, I struck out 11 with Colon on Pro. Also any of you guys know how to wear alt jerseys in franchise mode?
