                I live in Tampa (some say the "lightning capital of the world") and obviously lightning is a serious issue down here but, only 1 or 2 people get hit directly. What a freak accident for anyone. Not too sound morbid but, why is anyone on the beach during a thunderstorm?

                With all that said RIP Geremi.

                    I lived in south florida for 11 years and sadly every year there was a story of someone getting struck by lightning. Often on golf courses. I remember one year a HS football coach in Dade was hit and died from the strike.

                    then of course you do read about people surviving strikes.
