Again, I am looking for a SS that won't take A LOT to acquire. Obviously, Tejada and A-Rod (and yes! I would love to bring him back to Seattle) are probably unrealistic because I don't want to give up any starters or any of my young pitchers. I am 17-4, but Guillen simply is NOT getting the job done. Thanks for your help guys!

If you're in it for the franchise, maybe give a young SS like Cesar Izturis (A+ contact/ great fielding) or a potential slugger like Felipe Lopez a try. They're both 23 and could greatly improve in the right system. Also, Brandon Phillps is on the Indians roster. Rey Sanchez is a great underrated fielder.Comment

If you're in it for the franchise, maybe give a young SS like Cesar Izturis (A+ contact/ great fielding) or a potential slugger like Felipe Lopez a try. I was thinking about the possibility of Cesar Izturis from L.A...but who does Felipe Lppez play for??? I also though about maybe Brandon Phillips, but I am playing Cleveland right now and he is something like 6-50...very similar to Carlos Guillen.

I don't think you should give up Guillen. Give the guy a chance, 21 games isn't long enough to give up on him. Honestly, outside of the big 3 or 4, you're not going to find a better shortstop than Guillen. Switch-hitting, Bats .260, 20-30 doubles, 10 HR's, and underrated as a fielder...if you absolutely have to give him up, why don't you get the guy that the M's got Ben Davis for: Ramon Vazquez from SD. That kid's got upsideComment

I'd have to agree with the Mariner fan-- all guys go through slumps, it's part of baseball. Your best option is to go with your back-up shortstop for a few game suntil Guillen snaps out of it. Don't overreact, it's a long season.
