    PItcher's Stamina is a problem

I just don't get EA Sports. I just don't get them.

They always try to emphazie the highlite reel of sports. In their games usually the most exciting or rewarding plays in real life are abused in their games.

So here comes MVP. They put Randy Johnson on the cover and emphasis that you can get 15'ks with the new pitching meter because it's the one the draws the user closer to the gameplay.

Okay fine, but why then did they make it so pitcher's tire so easily. I don't get this one. What possible arcade reason would they have for the CPU AI to pull the star pitcher's in the 4-5 innings when they are throwing an absolute gem. Or even giving up a few runs here and there but nothing that should send in the releiver.

If the emphasis on this was the pitching and batting, then I don't get this flaw. Plus let's say the average user is playing this game. Not any of us harden gamers just some Joe that plays maybe once in a while. If you are a causal gamer but a baseball fan, wouldn't you want to the ability to throw nine innings. Wouldn't you expect this.

Chaulk this up to either a flaw that they couldn't fix because it would cause 20 other more balance issues. Or EA Sports just being EA Sports and passing it off as that's fine.

I don't think we will know until next year. If they improve upon these things, then it is just a first year game that has some flaws. If they don't then it is just EA being EA.

CPU fatigue is a problem, but my guys don't tire easily. I don't go full tilt on all of my pitches.

Yeah...I don't either. I pitched a complete game 1-0 win with the Rangers' Ismael Valdes over the Angels tonight. It was getting tough, but he hung in there for the win.

I think the key to pitcher stamina is to not use the full power bar on every pitch. I first noticed this when I was running out of gas late in a game, if I let up on the power I could get a more accurate pitch. I tried this in another game from the beginning and let up on the meter for offspeed stuff and in specific situations and I got John Burkett to go 8 innings! of course he gave up 4 runs on 11 hits.

JRod I couldn't agree with you more about the stamina. It's more of an issue with the CPU. A.J. Burnett was cruising along against me (6 IP, 4 Hits, 8 K's) and the CPU pulled him. No reason what-so-ever for this. A.J. Burnett had 7 CG's last year and a league leading 5 shutouts. He should go the distance.

                            Early in the season?

Perhaps this is too small a facet for any game, but could the early yanks on behalf of the CPU be happening because it's early in the season? Most pitchers don't start going the distance the first month of the season, so strategically speaking, it makes sense.

Again, I've only played four games in Franchise, so not sure.
