Change of scenery, same old Mark Prior

Too bad for Prior and the Padres as they had really hoped he would be able to return at some point this season.

This is sad. I like Prior, but he might need to consider switching positions because pitching is going to do more harm than good for all the injuries he's suffered.

I'm sad because he was so talented and if it weren't for all his arm troubles, who knows how good he could have been

This really sucks, he's my favortie player, but hasn't played in a while.

Yeah. I wonder what else he could play though.

It has got to be hard to call someone your favorite player when he hasn't thrown in basically 3 years. Is it like rooting for someone who is retired.

Maybe he could be one hell of a slowpitch softball player. He can walk the ball back to the mound like the catcher in Major League 2 (what an awful movie)

It's best for the Padres to not look forward to anything this season.

No need for Prior, won't make any difference for our offense.

Yes, I know, it really sucks...but I've always had some hope he would come back, but I'm really not sure why, it's pointless now.

I tried to warn you Padre fans not to get your hopes up in the first Prior thread we had in the beginning of the year. The guy is done.

                  From the first Prior thread

He will more than likely not be ready in June. There will be some some sort of setback or something along those lines and he will shut it down for the season.

If he does happen to come back, he will either.

                  A. Not make it to the big club because he can't top 85 in his rehab starts or....

<!-- / message --><!-- sig --> B. Get shelled in his first few starts with Padres. After which the Padres will shut him down citing some sort of injury, he then will go have some more surgery in the off season and the process will start over again. __________________

I don't think anyone really expected a god-send with Prior. When his name popped up over the offseason, people were like "Prior? Okay, if he's healthy, alright, if not, whatever." The Padres always do this with their 5th starter situation, sign a guy for cheap, hope that he either gets healthy and contributes and if he doesn't, oh well, you got other pitchers. They did this with Valdez, Woody, Chan Ho, Astacio, and others.

Like I said, wouldn't matter if he was healthy, we'd still be pathetic.

This is all Dusty Bakers fault, as is the recent eathquake in China, Hurrican Katrina, and the cost of gas!!

Stick a fork in Prior, he is done. For the guy who said he could be a batboy, he would find a way to get hurt doing that. He would polk himself in the eye with a bat.
