WSB - Can I Turn Off Batting Cursor & Just Hit The A Button?

I have been reading tons and tos of posts...

I hate batting cursors... I like old-school timing.

Can I turn off the batting cursor completely and just hit A and maybe left or right for pulling a pitch or going with it?

Or does turning off the cursor/batting box just HIDE it?

The "explanation" videos for MVP baseball say it is all timing. Is WSB batting cursor off similar to the MVP baseball timing?

I am so confused on which game to buy, thanks all for responses in advance. Boj

WSB has 3 modes of hitting.

Timing mode (swing only) is one of them.

Yea, you can swith to timing.

I think I'm gonna go with very fast pitches and timed batting. To get that HH feel going.

Graphik, I really like the hitting in HH as well and am thinking about getting WSB. In using the timed htting, do you know if you have to aim as well like you do in HH. For example do you push up and to the left to hit a high/inside pitch to a right handed hitter.

Or is WSB just simply the push of a button?

            Thanks.

Alright... I'm 32 years old and loved the old Baseball Stars and games that were similar to that... where you pressed to the right and hit A and the batter would attempt a hit to the right side of the field.

If you pressed up and hit A the batter would try to snuff a liner or ground ball... If you pressed down and A it would be an attempt to go deep or hit it in the air.

Is this similar to the timing hitting in WSB? Thanks

I dont think so, I think you just press the A botton no matter where the pitch is. I only tried it for a couple of batters yesterday. But combined with very fast pitching it should be a blast. And it had nice hit variety. The thing I like about WSB, is that the point in where you swing really counts. Swing early and you'll foul off. Swing to late and you'll foul off to the opposite side. So you can really utilize pulling the ball depending on your swing. No other game I've played this year does it.

The thing I dont like abou cursors is sometimes you'll strike out on a 3-2 count cause you swung at a ball way outside the strike zone thinking thier gonna throw a strike. So with timing, you pay more attention to the flight of the ball and can draw more walks, and look for the right pitch in your hot zone. It really does'nt bother me that you dont have to aim with the anolog b/c on HH 70 percent of the time I waited for a pitch I did'nt have to aim.
