    Griffey just hit 600

Congrats. I've always been a fan of Griffey. Just think what he might of done if he had stayed healthy.

Congrats to Junior. He was far and away my favorite player to watch during the 90's.

No kidding. He is definitely one of the all-time greats in my eyes. It's a shame that a lot of it got overshadowed by other players who were juiced up.

He has such a smooth and pretty swing.

Congrats to Junior. Man, my friends and I thought he was the coolest player ever when we were growing up. It's sad that injuries slowed him up, it's like the Bo Jackson feeling of "just think what he could have done if..."

Even with the injuries, he has to be considered one of the all time greats.

congrats to one of the best players to have ever played the game(w/o injuries possibly the best ever)

I just hope he sticks around another yr or two cause I hate to think of the day he hangs em up

It was the same with me and my friends. His 1989 upper deck rookie card was a must have for us in the mid-90's.

Congrats to Griffey although i'll always wonder "what if" in regards to his career if he had stayed healthier.

Interestingly he was going down the same path as Bonds in being a major A-Hole who everybody hates but he matured and has a real good head on his shoulders. It just goes to show that even greedy primadonna types can become better people given time and a good environment.

So true. I still remember being down on the field for fan day before an M's game in '97. Every single Mariner came out to visit the fans, shake their hands, and sign autographs except for Junior. He sat in the dugout and watched. There are plenty of Bonds-like stories about his clubhouse behavior during his twenties.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Oh how I wish he had stayed healthy for the Reds. Would have been a better homecoming for him.

                            Congrats, Junior!

I saw the Mariners play the Royals in like 94 or so...anyway, Griffey homered that game. Long after the game I was walking by the Mariners bus as the players were getting on. Griffey walked right by me as I was asking for an autograph and ignored me. It Kind of sucked being like 10 or 11 years old but now I realize that he can't sign everything that people throw in his face.

I think he has handled himself well for the most part. You never see him cheating on his wife, getting DUI's, or failing drug tests.
