Re: Already back to playing ASB

I'm finding that when I play my HH or my friend's WSB and I see something that it lacks, I'm always saying, "Dang, ASB has this...or ASB has that."
    I LOVE THIS GAME
The only thing I'm questioning about ASB is this:
I like to play a single "true" season. That means keep rosters up to date with the real league. The only exceptions I make are injuries. Real league injuries do not carry over into my season and I may suffer injuries that obviously don't occur in the real league.

The problem is....it is so hard to mirror real league roster moves and trying to battle the GM trade logic at the same time. I thought I could remedy this by selecting GM all teams at the outset of my season, but that doesn't seem to work.

So, I guess this all boils down to the same question many are asking....how do you update rosters with this game? I think this is exactly why there is no sharkport roster available yet.

I plan on using the Franshise mode and/or Expansion made eventually with this game--which I believe is one if its strongest suits, (but I usually do that during the late summer and fall months). I'd like to play a single season first using as accurate rosters as possible simulating the real trades that take place at the same time they take place.

    Ugh...still perplexed.

you guys call the grounders cartoonish, however in allstar you can aim your hits. I guarantee you coundt pull an outside pitch for a hr, however you guys have a crapy cursor which allows this to happen. I hope you continue to enjoy the realism of asb.
BTW-the dimensions in wsb might be a little short, however you can score from second on a single, and fromfirst on a double. Also, anything to the wall is a double.
In wsb you are also right down on the field, instead of high above.
Did i mention the behind the pitcher cam..
can you change camera views in asb.
Wait your game is better cause you have collision detection on HR's, that is why the game is so real.

        <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
Oh my....first of all...I'll be the first to say that I hate the 3D cursor...it is incredibly unrealistic....however, the Great thing about ASB is that it has 4, count em...4 different hitting interfaces...something for everyone! Also...I can score from second on a single if I have the right guys on base with speed. I'm not hear to dogg other games...but I played HH and MVP...and ASB is truly much better than the aforementioned. ASB should take up EA's motto....if its in the game, its in the game...cause thats what they have done. If its in baseball...ASB has it! Great job Acclaim, you didn't let us down...and the great thing is...this is still a foundation year for Acclaim, next year they worry less about features since they have all the features....then they continue to improve the gameplay, add some more animations, online play, more hits more throws....this game only gets better!

yes, but they had it correct in 2001, it has taken acclaim three years to build asb back up to a good to what you feel as a great game. They had it right in 2001. Best baseball game next to wsb 2k3 IMO. I just believe acclaim made a stupid mistake by distructing their 2001 engine.

I think the 3d cursor is incredibly realistic, so long as you refrain from aiming with it.

I'm heading back to ASB for good............

WSB just seems to arcadish this year. I hate how the ball seems to float when it 's hit.

I only wish I could hit better in ASB only average around 7-8 hits a game with zone hitting.

                                Regards,
