I guess the only remaining question is what to trade in my MVP Baseball for... Any suggestions? I just can't stay away from a game that has "Werewolves of London" in it.

I've got WSB and HH and like them both, although they don't get near that playing time that ASB does. If you have time for another baseball game, though, I would suggest one of those (HH is definitely the more realistic of the two).Comment

Re: Already back to playing ASB
Some will remember me making complaints about ASB2004, how the gameplay wasn't very good, and all that.
I have to be honest, though. WSB2K3 does a very poor job of producing a "realistic" feel for the game of baseball. It sure looks prettier than ASB2004, but after the crap I've had to put up with (sliders that, sliders that, settings this, settings that), I'm ALL up for a game that will at least produce realistic results AND allow me to play in manage-only mode. I'm a firm believer that no matter how good a pitcher/hitter interface is, humans will always influence the results in a way that isn't very realistic.
I'd rather let the computer decide how my players do, pending my actions that I take as a manager. ASB2004 can do those things for me, and very well. Next year, if they can improve on the player animations, collision detection and nuances of managing the minors (actually use A, AA, AAA, etc.), they WILL have a game that sets the standard for how the game of baseball should be presented.
That's all I've got to say

Re: Already back to playing ASB
Thanks for all the posts guys. You saved me from even thinking about trading in ASB for WSB. I liked WSB last year (mainly because of the graphics were way better than ASB's) but tired of it quickly. I decided this year to give ASB a chance again and I must say, I'm glad I did. You can spend hours just being a GM if you wished! Though I like the fielding controls in WSB better, for those who want a true simulation that's also fun (not to mention you can create your own expansion team) I think ASB is the way to go. Psycho Lyons is a RIOT. Hilarious commentary at times.Comment

48 hours of MVP and WSB and I'm back as well, this time for good. Neither of those games can hold a candle to ASB this year, IMO.Comment

Re: Already back to playing ASB
That travesty of a baseball game, MVP, is finally out of my house (EB's return policy was still in effect). Randy Johnson's ugly mug will mock me no longer from the cover of that box...Sorry, I just needed a place to vent, the MVP boards weren't very receptive to my anti-MVP comments. Good Ol' ASB, sure it has it's flaws, but it's deep as mofo and the fields actually seem to be the correct size. It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.Comment
