However, I think I found a bug in the sim aspect of franchise modes.
I have the game options for the league set up so that there is NO DH for either league (AL and NL). Now, this works fine when I play a game. However, when I simulate, say, one month of games, the engines acts like it ignores that setting and simulates the AL games *WITH* a DH.
The way I noticed this was that my created pitcher (ME) had only 3 at bats (which came from the first game of the season that I physically played). None of my other pitchers had ANY at bats, and my bench players that I had jammed into the DH slot where getting a lot of at bats (though, not enough to say for certain that they were the full time DH?)
Now, this is not a game killer, but I hate the DH rule and as an Indians fan, I want my pitchers to hit. Especially since I drafted for 5 good hitter/fielders, Good starting pitching/Good or better relief, and good fielding bench players.
If FatPitcher, or someone else, could check this for me and let me know if this is a true bug, or just a fluke, I would appreciate it.
Also, how the heck can you check your base runner’s speed, or the speed of an opposing base runner? Can you???
Also, how do check the opposing pitchers stats/ratings when they bring someone in, or even the opposing catchers arm rating?? I use this extensively in HH2004, and feel like I have been poked in the eye and am half-blinded when I can’t check this out ;-) I love checking the opposing reliever and seeing that he is wild, and then just work a 3-2 count, waiting for him throw me some cheese ;-)
Anyways, so far I am liking the game. I do however find myself wishing somehow that WSB2k3 and HH2004 could mind meld and produce the perfect combo game. Ahhh, now that would be the sweetest baseball game ever.
Thanks,
Craig
