Which is all it comes down too. All I care about is winning games, and since Hank and Hal have taken over, Hank hasn't done anything to hurt the team as far as winning games.

I thought Mussina's comments were serious. I didn't see anything wrong with them though.

And the thing that makes them even more funny is that as much as he tries and be like George, he can't, since Hal has just as much power as he does, and there's been some rumors he has more.

Hank can do all the ranting and raving he wants but in the end every important decision has to be discussed through the organization. He can't just fire or trade people on a whim.

Why are so many NL guys so anti-DH? It seems like anytime the rule is brought up, here come the NL'ers with their Jihad level hatred. It cracks me up. I'm glad the leagues have separate rules. I can see the beauty in the DH and I can see the beauty a hitting pitcher brings (mostly from a strategy POV). If both leagues adopt the same rule (either a DH or a hitting pitcher) I'll be extremely disappointed as that means a great dynamic in baseball has been completely eliminated.

Let the game keep its variety.

Hank Steinbrenner can take his AL DH-rule and shove it straight up his you know what. Sorry about Wang, but **** happens. I'd be bummed if Volquez got hurt running the bases but that's just part of the game.

What exactly is the beauty of the DH rule?

I never really understood why the AL had the DH. I always thought it was pretty silly, honestly. That's like changing a rule in the AFC while the NFC still has to play with it. It's weird.

Not having an automatic out in the lineup (unless you're the Twins or Mariners...that's for you Snepp). You're telling me you actually like watching Ben Sheets or Brett Myers hit?

Or in the case of the Mariners, 2 or 3 automatic outs.

Hey how bout Micah Owings? That dude can hit! Rick Ankiel could hit when he was pitching. Actually i've heard that a lot of the young pitchers coming up to the big league these days are actually not that bad with the stick.

Absolutely, there are a handful of good hitting pitchers in the league (Zambrano, Marquis, Willis, Owengs, etc). That's why I don't hate the non-DH in the NL...I'm glad both leagues have different rules. For as many good hitting pitchers, there are 5x that many bad hitting pitchers though. Ben Sheets gets a hit about once every other month...I don't enjoy watching that...at all.

Another pro to the DH rule. Longer starts by starting pitchers.

Actually I do, as I think it adds a lot more strategy to the game than the typical AL game. Where there is maybe one important decision per game.
