it all started out so well, but then.....
i was so happy with this game when i first played it yesterday, but then the ai showed its ungly self. i mean mvp does so many things so well, it just falls short if your playing games against the cpu. for instance i loved the pitching and it would work so well if i spent alot of time playing friends instead of the cpu, but when i play the cpu, you can't make him bite on a bad pitch the way a reall major leaguer would. certain pitches ina pitchers arsenal just arn't meant to be thrown in the strike zone, but that is the only possible way to use them in this game, because throwing them like they are supposed to be thrown only results in balls. why? because the ai of the computer batter on all-star just doesn't chase pitches out of the zone. therefore, i can't pitch like a power picther and rack up the ks like i so badly want to. then the cpu always goes to the bullpen way to early. the hitting part of the game seemed good for awhile too, but already starting to get the timing down and now i'm starting to hit at will. with so many things i liked about this game such as the pitch meters, throw meters and how accurately each is depicted in terms of looks(face and body type) and in terms of attributes, not to metion the smooth animations, i really don't want to trade all of that in for wsb, but the ai makes me so mad and is so important it really ruins all of the good in the game. i'll give it a little while longer, but if i still feel this way, i'm going to have to get wsb. somebody please tell me that is away to actuall fool the cpu hitter or some of these faults are just due to my poor execution of what is actually a good game if played correctly.Tags: None -

Pitching in this game definitely takes a strong train of thought. I played my first 10 games maybe on the All-Star difficulty and while the scores were normal, Ks were very rare. I moved down to Pro today and im getting around 5-8 SO a game. You can get then to fish for a pitch, but you cant lose your train of thought, you have to remember every pitch you have thrown to each batter and just work them. Throw balls if you get ahead in the count, they wont chase but do it right, you can come and sneak one by them on the corner. When you do it, its very satisfying. -

does the rest of the game get too easy on pro. i like the game to be hard and for the cpu to make you pay for mistakes, but even barry bonds chases after a bad one once in a while.Comment
