Did you see the switch pitcher vs the switch batter yesterday.
On SNY the Staten Island Yankees vs the Brookyln Cyclones game was on. And the Staten Island yankees have a switch pitcher. The Cyclones hitter came up who was a switch hitter saw his glove and both of them kept switching. At first the switch hitter moved to the other side of the plate then the switch pitcher changed his glove to his other hand. Happened for like 2 minutes until the umpire stopped it and made them both be right handed.Tags: None -

Saw it on Sportscenter. I didn't think I could laugh any harder until I saw Prince Fielder's inside-the-park home run two minutes later.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I would hate to ever face this pitcher. I wonder, does he have double the pitch count?Comment

When a switch hitter faces an ambidextrous pitcher, the pitcher has to declare which hand he's going to throw with. This should have been a 15 second delay, at worst.Comment

This is hardly the first time in the history of baseball where this situation has arisen. The only reason this results in an entertaining video is incompetent umpiring.
When a switch hitter faces an ambidextrous pitcher, the pitcher has to declare which hand he's going to throw with. This should have been a 15 second delay, at worst.
According to umpire Charlie Reliford, there is no rule regarding pitchers who throw with both arms:
“The only rule is what when a pitcher is on the rubber, a batter cannot change boxes,” Reliford said. “But there is no penalty for switching, you just tell him he can’t do it.”Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Did you see the switch pitcher vs the switch batter yesterday.
As a switch hitter, I feel the batter's pain. You begin batting your entire life seeing only a lefty batting right-handed and vice-versa. It ends up being so unnatural that you look as foolish as he did on the strikeout. You never see a ball coming from that slot and that angle, and you never see a curveball breaking the other way.
It's just unfortunate that the pitcher had to do that (for the hitter's sake), but it was just so funny.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I remember they had an ESPN article on Pat Venditte (the pitcher) when he was still at Creighton. He's actually doing quite well and isn't just a sideshow, and has a nasty right-handed curveball. I can definitely see him making a major league club as a reliever.Comment

I wish Billy Wagner used his own talent to do this. There's been more than a couple stories on how a couple years ago when he was at his best, he could throw 98-99 left-handed, and 95 right-handed. I'm not sure why he never utilized that.Comment

i've heard he sits low to mid 80s with his left but with a funkier delivery that makes it tough to pick up.MLB: New York Yankees

He's naturally a right-hander. He only started throwing left-handed after he hurt his right arm as a kid and kept throwing left handed.Comment
