MLB Needs to take the All-Star Voting out of the fans hands!!

I Was just viewing MLB.com and i am dissapointed to see how the voting is playing out its become clear to me that people dont know how to vote and how to understand that stats are the major role not a name on the back of a player jersey

but i see people with no common sense putting in guys like Robinson i cant hit Cono and Dustin Padoria when guys like Ian Kinsler and Picedo Polonco are hitting way better then the Current Garbege in the lead

another thing that makes me sick is how people put in guys like C Jason Vertiek instead of guys like Donner Navverro who is hitting 324 for TB and Joe Mauer for Min its a disgrace and a stupid popularity contest

people needs to wake up to the real world and look at stats as the stats dont lie but it seems people look at the name on the back of the jersey and team they play instead of using common sense

its about stats and if i am gonna spend my hard earned money on an all-star game i want to see guys who are All-Stars that year who are putting up numbers

not guys like Adam Dunn who is HR Or Nothing and i rather get my money worth to see guys who worked there butts of instead of guys who are hitting like garbege as in Robinson Cono who is under 230 in batting avg so again this is why my money will never goto an all-star game

this is the reason fans should not be allowed to vote as i dont care if its ur money or not

its called an All-Star Game not a Scrub Star game All-Star Games should be for guys who are doing good that year not by the name on the back of the jersey and team they play for

so if i were the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, or Whatever i would take the voting out of the fans hands and leave it up to players and coaches as the system we have now is rigged

cuz people dont think they just click buttons without using commen sense

so Take the voting out of fans hands rather its there money or not\

Lets get a real all-star game that would be fun and worth watching for a change not a game full of buck 80 hitters

its a number game and people should start using it as a resorce as this system is rigged and needs changed ASAP Have a great day!

I agree...take the power away from the fans...Kinsler IMO deserves to be in the All-Star game.

While I agree, it's nothing new.

Although with the new policy about the winner having home field in the WS, it could screw things up.

I still remember McGwire making the all star team years back for Oakland hitting something like .211.

      Pathetic.

"MLB Needs to take the All-Star Voting out of the fans hands!!"

Why? The all star game is meaningless. Do you really care who goes? Wins? Watches?

I mean I liked allstar games when I was a child, but otherwise....

Just an excuse for each sport, ans their athletes to pad their wallets.

            Is that you Bud?

Yes, at least in baseball. Who has won the last 5 world series? The home team?

              3 out of 5.

EDIT: At a quick glance, the home team has won all but 3 World Series since the strike, and has won the last eight game 7's.

EDIT 2: Going back even farther, the home team has won 21 out of the last 27 World Series. Seems to me that home field advantage isn't so meaningless.

So did they win because they were the better team? Or because they had home field advantage?

If it is because they had home field advantage, can you prove it was because there league won the meaningless all star game?

Because MLB decided to make it matter.

Yes the fans are to blame, but the players are also. The players vote and they will vote better than the fans, but most of them will vote favorably to their teammates, friends, and "names". What the MLB needs to do is either create a committee of scouts, former players, and coaches or use a fantasy type scoring system. If you use the fantasy scoring route, everyone will know if they are making it and you will reward the correct players, not their names.

Nothing will change though because of the money involved. The fans don't want to see someone they've never heard of, they would rather see a "name" got 0-3.

I'm surprised the massive fan base of Boston and New York haven't tried to make sure the AL wins ever year by voting for the worse players on the list for the NL. I would like to see MLB have a game between scrubs from both leagues, settling home field. That would probably make Bud piss in his pants for another horrible embarrassment on his watch.

                    Seriously?

By that logic, home field advantage is worthless in ALL sports

Yes seriously. Take Boston last year, they could have played all 7 games in Colorado, do you think the Rockies could have won?

One heck of a coincidence I guess.

Alright get bent out of shape because of who the fans pick at the all star game... however they might know what they are talking about because the team that usually wins the all star game will also win the series at least according to you.
