One thing I found out about the vacuum on pop flys. It is because you are not lined up perfect when you catch it. Now that I am good at catching fly balls, I get no vacuum catches. Still get them on grounders sometimes.

Yeah, I realized this too and have adjusted to the fly balls and grounders nicely. I just mentioned the vacuum catches because the CPU does it so much. On one play, i think the score was Yanks 2 - Twins 3, and in the 8th Posada hit a ball that was a definite HR (a line drive) but Torii Hunter robbed me of a homer because of the vacuum catch. Hunter was about 15 ft. to the left and 8-10 ft. from the wall. It appeared as if he hit an imaginary wall at the warning track in the Metrodome and climbed it.
Thats been my worst experience so far so I think thats something I can live with.Comment

I hated AB last year. Took it back 1 week after buying it. Too many trades and the outfields were really small. This year is a different story. Franchise mode alone is a blast. The stadiums in WSB are much more crisp, but it doesn't feel like you are there.

ASB 2004 is head and shoulders above last year's effort. I really disliked ASB 2003 as well. That said, I still feel like fielders get to too many balls (my 1st and 3rd baseman have caught some foul balls that have me shaking my head and the OF's appear to get to a few too many as well, plus they seem to get to a lot of balls way too easily), and OF arms are still way too accurate and strong. There are way too many instances of runners getting gunned out at home on perfect throws and too few runners scoring from second on a single. That said, neither of these problems is NEAR as bad as they were last year. I hope that for next year's game Acclaim continues to tweak these settings. Adjustable pitch speed is also a must for me next season.
ASB beats WSB as my sim game of choice this year. WSB is not bad by any stretch, but ASB noses it out, IMO. MVP is my game of choice for pure "fun factor" but it too needs some gameplay tweaking. Great for a first effort, though.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines
MLB: St. Louis Cardinals
NHL: St. Louis Blues
NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
EPL: Liverpool RedsComment

after days of MVP and WSB, I keep getting drawn back to ASB.Best announcing by far and I love the collision detection on Hr's. Hate when the ball disappears on other games.

Good to have you back. I myself am too poor to go anywhere else!Comment
