Re: I can\'t hit a homerun
i had the same problem, but i finally hit one (and then some).
Just be patient. Wait for a pitch in your batter's hot zone.
JUMP on a mistake pitch in your hot zone...that is where all of my homeruns have come."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: I can\'t hit a homerun
the other thing to do is try and pull your homerun.
When I'm looking for a homer I tend to press the stick up and which ever was is the pull for that player. You have to do this in the homerun derby thing and it seems to work in games. Although it will result in bad outcomes if the pitches is away or not what you are looking for.Comment

Re: I can\'t hit a homerun
I wish they would incorporate the high heat style of hitting. That way you really hit the pitch where its pitched. Say if you timed it right on a low inside pitch you you pushed that direction then you would maybe hit a HR or something hard and deep, but if you do that with MVP then you'll hit a grounder to the right side. This is my only complaint really with MVP. There are also to many linedrive and fly outs cause of trying ot push up to hit HR's.Comment

A low outside pitch is usually grounded out. If it is a good pitch on the corner that is. I have seen a couple of guys fight those off for bloop singles, but if a pitcher is throwing low on the outside corner, it is probably the toughest pitch to elevate with authority in real life.Comment

Re: I can\'t hit a homerun
I am having trouble as well. I fired up Franchise mode last nite w/ the Royals. I was having a blast, but did get swept by the Chi Sox. =(
The strange thing is the computer didn't even hit a dinger. Frank Thomas did hit .700 though. He owned me in the worst way.
So far I am loving the game. I hate when homers are too easy to hit. Keeping the game is still up in the air, but I am going to give it a strong go this weekend.Comment
