    Obviously there's always the Miguel Tejada factor, but it's possible.

    I've seen 16 year olds who can hit 90 mph that most MLB teams probably have never even heard of. There's no doubt in my mind that a country's highest touted prospect whom many MLB teams are fighting over, who's 6'7'' 205, could be throwing that speed at that age.

    All that being said, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to learn that he's actually 19.

      Beckett was throwing 98-99 as an 18 year old senior. I'm sure a year or two before that he was in the low-mid 90's.
