    Suggestion for All-Star Game

We have a Fan Vote for the last spot on the roster. How about a Fan Vote to remove one of the player selected All-Stars? The Fan Vote's pick would replace the one voted out.

They would never do that... you name someone to the All-Star team and possibly have him voted off? Plus, the fans voted that player on... why would they vote that player off?

LOL, exactly. I guess people have been trained by American Idol and all of the other "reality show" garbage to vote AGAINST people rather than FOR them.

I was talking about the players that the players voted on. The fans only vote for the starters and the final vote. The managers pick the starting pitcher, and the players pick everyone else.

I think he's talking about fan voting to get a reserve selected by the managers and players off the team. I can't ever see something like that happening. The great majority of the reserves deserve to be on the team more so than some of the starters.

We don't need more Yankee and Red Sox fan involvement than there already is.

I see that this idea came from the players making some dumb votes in the process.

I thought fans were bad but Jason Varitek? The NL Players not voting for Webb?

It just makes you wonder. I know the players apparently don't like Pierzynski and I'm sure that hurt him but come on! Varitek?

I think the MLB ASG should follow the NFL's format. Isn't it something like 1/3 players, 1/3 coaches, and 1/3 fans' votes all tabulated together to select the NFL teams?

That's pretty much how it's done now in MLB.

Fans vote the starters, players vote on like the next third of the team and then the managers pick the rest of the squad needing to make sure that every team is represented.
