I think I remember when Rey Ordonez came in for the Mets and struck someone out on like a 93 MPH fastball. It was awesome!Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I still remember Jeff Tackett pitching an inning for the O's.Comment

Re: Surprised no one posted on this yet.
It's a shame Canseco blew out his elbow when he pitched, he ruined it for any semi-decent players actually getting a chance to pitch. Nevermind that his elbow was probably ready to give out anyway.
I would LOVE to see Ichiro go up there and throw some gas, but it'll never happen.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Wade Boggs pitched an inning for the Yankees.
I believe he threw a knuckleball.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Surprised no one posted on this yet.
EDIT: Just looked. August 19th 1997 against the Angels. He even had a SO, in 1 IP.
Looking more, it looks like he pitched for Tampa Bay as well. Gave up 3 hits, 1 ER, and had another SO in 1.1 IP.Last edited by Chaos81; 07-08-2008, 10:19 PM.Comment

lol @ sending out Burke to pitch in the 15th inning of a tie game.
Piss poor bullpen management perhaps?
The Mariners pitching staff is a DISASTER. They only have 3 healthy starters (I use that term loosely when the starters are Washburn, Dickey, and Silva), so 2 out of 5 games are bullpen combos from start to finish.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

I recall Mark Grace coming in for the Diamondbacks once. He did the Mike Fetters imitation where there's that snap-scowl after looking at the ground, it was hilarious! Steve Finley hit a home run off of him I believe.
And I think Derek Bell once pitched an inning for Pittsburgh. He threw like 60 MPH.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Surprised no one posted on this yet.
It happens more often in "blow-out" games, where the losing team doesn't want to send someone out there anyway --not a tie game -YIKES..
Though I guess the O's didn't have anyone who could pitch in last year's 30-3 loss..Comment

Doug Dascenzo one pitched an inning for the Cubs against the Mets in a blowout game...and the pic of him delivering to the plate wound up on his baseball card from that year...Score or Fleer, can't remember.Australian Rules Football...just sayin'Comment
