Well fielding in this game is easy to get a hang of. I like the way it is.

One thing I liked about All-Star Baseball this year is how you could pick who you controlled on offense and defense. That way if you only want to pitch you could to that; if you only wanted to field and bat with the SS, you could do that too. Wish that was in this game... but I'm still getting it of course. As soon as it's out of the PS2.

Yes I like that option. Also a generated pitch count would have done wonders if you plan to manage your games or play a quick game. I love this feature in ASB 2004.

I certainly understand your point of view. But why is this the only game not to include this as an option? Don't you think they are cutting of some potential customers? All I am asking is why isn't this an option?

I am forcing myself to learn how to field, but it is frustrating when I see a groundball go through the 3B and SS because I am not skilled enough yet to get to it. When I know it would never go through in RL.

I have always used auto fielding in High Heat, so I find it frustrating that this simple option was not included in WSB. They have options on top of options, but this one gets left out?

The problem I have with manual fielding is that many times it is difficult to tell immediately which player you are controlling, and when the control may shift from infield to outfield. It does seem fairly easy to pick up in WSB due to the "floaty" ball flight that gives you more time to position the fielder.
