    Tips needed to improve batting

I've played ASB for a number of years, the last two on XBox. It's a beautiful game, and nothing I've ever played comes close...
    BUT...
I suck at hitting this year. Okay, yes, I'm also a Milwaukee Brewers fan, but I've played at the veteran level and I'm having the Jose Hernandez problem.
17 strikeouts a game is not uncommon.
    Any tips?

i had the same problem w/the reds but i switched to classic batting and took off the strike zone(seems i can see the ball better). i am playing on all-star right now and have cut my Ks down to a reasonable amount. but fastballs are still hard for me to catchup to. hope i can help

i feel your pain. i had trouble with batting until i tried this.

                - just watch a cpu vs cpu game. try 2-3 games
-hold the controller in you hand and act as if you're batting.
-FOLLOW THE PITCHER'S THROW HAND DURING WIND-UP AND WATCH THE BALL ALL THE WAY INTO THE STRIKE ZONE. DON'T WATCH THE "BALL DOT"!!!
-after watching the games, go into batting pratice. you will then be able to judge the ball velocity and movement better.
                - be sure to put the pitch settings to random so you may have a variety of pitches thrown at you and you can judge balls and strikes.

note: after doing this, i become very good and comfortable with batting, averaging one hit a game with each player. i use the classic because i'm not tempted to use the power swing.

good luck, be patient, and let me know how you're doing?....

I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...
