I play with zone hitting. I kept noticing that whenever I would try to get a sacrifice bunt with my pitcher, I would end up with a base hit 70% of the time. That didn't seem right. So I started a game as the Mets and did nothing but bunt. Not talking about drag bunting. I stayed in the bunt stance the whole time. I got 8 hits in the first inning... scoring 4 runs. The three outs were from: 2 bunting foul on 2 strikes. 1 bunt hard right to the 3rd baseman. Heck Piazza bunted softly down the left field line like he was Timo Perez (I forgot to mention all bunts down the left field line) and I don't think I have seen Piazza bunt in his entire career. I continued this strategy and quit after 4 innings and 17 hits. It seems like only every 4 batter was getting out. It also seems like the computer refuses to change its infield to shallow to defend the bunt. Anyone else notice anything like this. Most will probably say, "don't do it" but it doesnt work like that. I play NL where pitcher sacrifices are a fundamental part of the game. Any non-fan boy commentary or suggestions (does the game have sliders? If so I cant find them), I would be appreciative.

Yeah bunting is pretty easy way to get guys on air, lucky I play in the AL and don't bunt often. Just think about when I play with Ichiro, they alwasy bring in the corners when he's up, last year whenever I bunted with him I got on base EVERY time with him, no chance. They should at least bring in the corners when you get in bunt stance and give you a reason to drag if you really want a base hit with a bunt.Comment
