    How's the Trade AI?

I just finished grilling the MVP board on this. Some people are "graphics whores," I guess I'm a "trade AI-whore."
I'm on the fence on what game to get, and this might be the deal breaker or maker.

Are you able to rip-off the CPU? Do the CPU teams make bone-headed illogical trades? Thanks.

I haven’t been able to do much as far a trades. I am running the Giants. I have been looking for a 1st baseman, and I can’t really get anyone decent or rated higher than J.T. Snow is. I tried trades for superstars (Giambi, A-rod and such) and I keep getting the “Our team is built around “player”. We will not trade him” or simply “no”. I did trade 2 minor leagues scrubs, plus 47 points to the Marlins for C Mark Redmond. I needed a C since mine went on the DL for 99 days. The 47 points I found out were equal to 9 MILLION! So, I have traded some minor prospects for a vet. I have seen one CPU trade, but nothing really hard core yet since I am only 2 weeks into the season. I expect more in a few months as people get hurt. I have tried the 3 for 1 superstar, but the CPU will not go for it. “You are not offering anything close to our guy” I have seen often.

This is actually encouraging. You shouldn't be able to pry away quality players without giving away a lot. Especially in the beginning of the season. Later in the season you should be able to get studs on the last year of their contracts with small market teams out of the playoffs, and aging, high priced players who still have some game left, etc.

Do CPU teams trade amongst each other over the course of a season, or is the only trading going on the one you (the user) initiate?

                Thanks.

CPU does trades too. Also sends guys down to the minors and calls them up. There is a new section that tells you all the transactions and injuries etc.

I simmed a season to find out, and the CPU did make some trades. I think the highest rated player traded was Klesko who was traded to Boton for Fossum and 2 Minor League prospects. Numerous deals were made at the deadline.

I don't have the game yet, but I know that 2 cpu teams will trade between each other. That's what I hated about ASB last year. Me and my Mets would get into the playoffs and you see that Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones, and Maddux had been traded!

This year I just hope that Guillermo Mota is still on the Dodgers when we play them so I can bean him witha Benitez fastball.
