Can the pitch location marker be turned off?

I'm sure this question has already been asked, but I searched through the forum and could not find a post. I rented ASB2004 for the Xbox and I'm using zone batting, but that round white pitch location marker is driving me crazy. I cannot follow the pitch without being distracted when it pops up. Can it be turned off?

How does the dot distract you?? I don't get it....it shows you where the pitch is going...AIM FOR THE DOT! The pitch is coming to that location.

Watch the ball, not the dot! I do agree sometimes I can't catch pitches like the change up high in the strike zone because of that dot!

I don't want the dot to show me where the pitch is going. I want to follow the ball out of the pitcher's hand. That dot popping up messes with my timing, and it can also completely block the view of an incoming non-breaking pitch. Can it be turned off?

Are you guys trying to tell me that this CANNOT be turned off??? That is simply ridiculous if this is true! I DON'T need a dot to tell me where the pitch is going to be at....I want to figure that out on my own by watching the pitch.

Are you guys serious that this dot cannot be turned off????????

dot can't be turned off. It doesn't help you hit better though. If you wait for the dot to pop up and try and move your cursor, it's too late.

What about for zone-hitting? Are you telling me that when the DOT appears at the top of the strike zone, all you have to do is hit up on the D-Pad and swing??? I can see for cursor-based batting how it wouldn't matter because you wouldn't have enough time to move the cursor, but for zone-hitting it would be a game-killer to me. I was seriously thinking about buying this game until I read this thread. I want to set it up with zone-hitting.....but if there is going to be a dot that pops up that tells me which zone to swing in, that would simply kill the game for me. I want to be able to watch the pitch and swing according to the movement of the ball....I don't want some kind of DOT to pop up to show me which direction to swing in.

I need an answer to the above question. Thanks. This determines if I buy the game or not.
