    Player progression/digression, Franchise Mode

Is player progression is based on experience and stats, or moreso on somewhat predetermined maximums and minimums?
Anyone played a few seasons into franchise yet and know for sure?
The reason I ask, is because I'm playing exhibition games now, and have not seen more than 9 total hits in a game, only one homerun in 4 games, more walks than hits and about 25 to 30 K's per game (both teams combined).
If progression is performanced based, my team will have nothing but guys who can't make contact nor hit the ball out of a phone booth, and pitchers who can not be hit, but who also can't pitch the ball over the plate, due to the BB counts.

I haven't played ahead, so I don't know for sure, but I think it has a lot more to do with the age of your players and how much you put into the coaching part of your budget allotment.

I simmed ahead when I first got the game and saw that Joe Borchard had regressed while Mike Cuddyer had advanced, but for the most part the players stay the same. I think we'll all have a better idea of how this works in a few weeks.

I know I had Madden 2003 and players would improve based on their relative statistics, but I don't think the same holds true here.

Yea, I think its based on the coaching budget you create (actually I know thats one reason for progression), also, I think it has something to do with age...and I since the minor leaguers don't accumulate stats...I don't see how it could based on stats. I think Madden should possibly look into what ASB is doing and create a budget for scouting, coaching..etc...This is a great idea, and unlike madden, even your back up players and rookies can actually progress without having to play like MVP's.
