    BALL Physics...WOW

Have any of you gone into the Homerun Showdown?...if not, I urge you to do it immediately. I never knew how amazing the ball physics were in this game until i tried this mode. the way the camera is set up stationary behind the batter you get this unbelievable sensation of the way the ball cuts thru the air in its flight....its more impressive than I originally thought, you dont get the same sensation of the flight of the ball from the in game camera angles as you do from this mode. EA got this down perfect.

Also, try doing this at night....oddly the smaller graphics ( due to the split window ) somehow make the visuals much crisper too

    What do you think?

I've notice that too. In particular when I hit a bomb down the line and the ball slowly tails into foul territory turning my +400 points into -400 points .

I started playing with the aerial fielding view in games and you get a little better sense for the ball trajectory than you do in zoom mode.

this is easily the best HR derby of any bb game to date.
Very Addictive! I also love that the pitches aren't all the same speed, they mix it up to throw u off.

HR Derby is somethin I can do without. I hate this mode.

I'm a big fan of the HR Showdown, and agree with you about the camera angle exhibiting great shots of the flight of the ball. I like the way you can hit the ball to the power alleys by well timed swings and a press of the stick UP LEFT or UP RIGHT.This game is very immersive, even in solo mode.My minor complaints are that the HR bonus of 100 and the foul ball penalty of "minus the # of feet of the foul ball" makes going down that short line a risky proposition. I would have preferred a foul ball penalty of 150 and an HR bonus of 300 or at least to have the option of setting some scoring parameters. This is a great game, especially in 2 player when the score is close and someone chokes on a change up.

I just wish someone would let us keep records in these types of modes. This is actually the first HR Derby I played more than once. Its a great mode, and completely awesome against another person.

MAybe next year we can get records and stuff along them lines. Could you imagine drills like in Madden being brought into this game along with the HR Showdown. Hopefully EA does another version next year, should be interesting to see what they fix and add, as long as they dont break anything that actually works.

I agree. The ability to customize this game mode and track stats would have really enhanced the already best to date HR derby.
