This is one thing that I do not like about WSB, the game sliders. It seems that you spend all of your time tinkering with the sliders instead of enjoying the game.

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!
Thanks man.... I am using your sliders settings with my Texas Rangers franchise and I have only played 5 games but the numbers are right on time. I just played a nail biter with chan ho park on the mound. he gave me 6 scorless innings of ball and the bullpen came in and shut the door on the Mariners 1-0. I only had 7 hits and they had 8. I love this game...Comment

CPU Pitching Ability--65
Its at 65 for a couple of reasons, I think this is the only way for you, the hitter to get less hits in a game and match or come close to what the CPU hits per game. I felt like I got to many hits per game. Say about 8-12 range every game I played. Same for the CpU, they always have that one inning where they get about 4-5 hits on you. But I'll get into that later.
with the slider being at 65, it makes the CPU pitcher work the hell on the corners. When I innitially had it at 50-55ish, the CPU threw a lot of balls straight down the pipe resulting in me getting to many hits. With this setting I adveraged 6 hits in 3 games tested.
CPU Batting average--20
Like I said earlier, I felt that the CPU was getting way to many hits, and with a team such as KC or Det, No way. So I tested the slider first at 1, the lowest you can go and the CPU struck out alot swing at grooved pitches. But they still got a fair amount of hits. Then I tested it at 100, then the CPU was hitting every grooved pitch for a hit. 6 runs in the first inning they had on me. At 50, they still had about 10 or so hits. So when I lowered to 20, it felt just right. They swung and missed alot of strikes, but did'nt strike out as much when it was on 1. And in the 2 games I tested 20 on, the CPU averaged 7 hits and scored 3 runs. But I may still test this further with a great pitcher (R, Johnson) and a scrub (Steve Noah in the free agent list) (No offence Steve, but they made you a damn scrub. 36 total rating, damn. I still picked you up and signed you to a contract.)
CPU Batting Eye (Balls)and (Stikes)--55
At 60, they made alot of contact on the grooved pitches and did'nt swing to much at any balls. So at 55 or 50ish, they swing and miss at some strikes and balls and you can still strike them out and walk them. I also tested it at 100, and they hit every strike and did'nt swing at any balls, so theres my reason to have it in the 50s. Sort of like a percentage.
CPU Throws Strikes--25
Very self explanitory(sp?) They throw enough walks and still strike you out and IMO this is the closest way to tell the difference in a pitcher who has not accuracy and a pitcher with good accuracy. Combined with the Pitching ability, the CPU will hit corners for strikes, and miss the corners for balls.
CPU stealing frequncy--45.
The CPU will steal on you with a fast runner, not all the time, but the majority. And one time they even did a double steal on me. Well, if you still feel they dont steal as much, try it on 50. I have'nt really touched this slider since I first got the game and really have'nt experimented with it. But some posters have said the CPU does'nt steal to much. They steal enough for my liking tho.

I'm using these sliders of Graphik's and they're fantastic. I've had all great games since I started using them - very realistic! Thanks for sharing them!
I'm playing on All-Star with these Custom sliders, plus I turned off the strike zone and pitching cursor. I'm using the Small batting cursor for hitting and Medium pitch variation. I'm really enjoying these settings.

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!
I played acouple games based off jpoo's idea for putting the pitching ability at 100. Man it rocks. I faced a knuckleballer yesterday and he was killing us, I kept getting under his pitches resulting in alot of pop ups. And he struck me out lookin a few times. He threw that KB over and over in every location imaginable. It was the most tense game I ever played......until the next game.
the next game, the pitcher had a nasty curve ball and I was once again being killed by it. Its super challeging to get a hit now, I had to put the pitch speed on medium and still strck out 11 times.
All I'm saying is to try it on 100 a few times, and you see a big diffence in the CPU's pitching. This is only if you felt like you hit to much on a lower setting. No more grooved pitches. I said to myself all day "damn, that was a good pitch" Had me chasing, looking stupid, swinging early and they set me up a gang of timeswith a changeup-fastball combo.
In the to games played on 100, the first game was 2-9-2 in 15 innings, and the second was 1-6-0 and I lost both times. Struck out a total of 34 times, 23 in the xtra inning game.
Oh, yea, I also lowered the pitch strikes slider to 10 and I drrew a total of 7 walks in those 2 games. Would have been more but that KB was killing me.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

cpu throw strikes: 1 (now I know this sounds low, but it is working great for me. In reality pitchers hardly ever throw actual strikes, and when they do, its barely. Also, you all know that you swing at crap that you wish you hadn't so it works out perfectly. I definitely want some feedback on this one.)
<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
I agree with you on this one. This slider definitely needs to be towards the low end if you want to realistically see some walks. Just for fun, i ran this test: i set the slider to 1, then played an exhibition game against the Red Sox with Pedro on the mound. I played the WHOLE game without swining at one pitch, just to see how bad the pitcher threw. Well, even with the slider set to 1, i only got one walk! There were plenty of deep counts, but only 1 times were 4 balls thrown. Now, it was Pedro, so it's possible that it was realistic.
I now have this slider set to 5. I would set it to 1, but i just have this stigma against having it set to the worst possible setting. I think anywhere in the 1-10 range would probably be pretty realistic.Comment

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!
Graet post guys- I can't wait to try the various ideas out tonight. But I have one question.
Will changes to the game play sliders affect an on-going franchise or are the custom gameplay sliders "set" when you start the franchise? Just want to know if I will have to restart my Cubs Dynasty (stop laughing).Comment
