Hitting - Best way to aim the stick?

I am curious how u guys that are good at hitting are using the left analog stick? I am trying to break my High Heat habit of pushing the stick in the same direction that the pitch is. What I try to do is just aim left if the pitch is inside, right if it's outside, and do nothing if it's down the middle. I only aim up or down if I want to try a sac fly or go for a HR or ground ball.
What do u guys do? and are you "pre-aiming" the stick or moving it after the pitch?

I don't think you can "pre aim" the stick, in the sense of holding the stick in the desired position before pressing the "A" button. I'm quite sure it requires a simultaneous press of the stick and "A" button.If a right handed batter has a cold zone to most of the outside and your opponent wishes to attack this frigid territory, you could "pre think" your swing by hitting to the opposite field with a stick move of either diagonal down right,diagonal up right, or straight across right.By going with the outside pitch and attempting to hit the ball to the opposite field a well timed swing of this type should give you an edge in thawing out your cold zone. This applys to pulling an inside pitch also. Of course you don't have to "pre think" this strategy if your reflexes are quick enough,at least at that given time.The bottom line assuming your a right handed hitter is to aim right for an outside pitch and left for an inside pitch. Of course you could play it a little safer by not aiming at all, thus allowing your players natural tendencies to take over.This is the best cat and mouse hitting/pitching engine I've ever played, and the 2 player contests have cut into my Rocky slugfests.

If the pitch is in the middle you can aim R or L depending where you want the ball to go. Of course, as with any type of swing, if your too late or too early a pull or punch effect will take place no matter how you aim.

I htink u can "pre-aim" the stick. I tried it in HR derby and it seems to work.

You're right. I just tried it. Makes the strategy in going down the line in HR Showdown more feasible because you can stay away from foul balls more easily. More importantly, it will make situational hitting in regular mode something I will do a lot more. Am I the only one that missed the "A" button/stick timing issue?

You're right. I just tried it. Makes the strategy in going down the line in HR Showdown more feasible because you can stay away from foul balls more easily. Yeah, I thought it was logical that you could pre-aim the stick. That's how I remain patient at the plate. I pre-aim and wait for the pitch to come to my pre-aimed location.

10 oclosk and 2 o clock is where Ive found you really drive the ball. Try it in HR challenge and youll see.
